The private provider of night train connections, European Sleeper, will operate from Berlin to Amsterdam and Brussels from May 25, 2023. In 2024, Prague will also be headed for, with a stopover in Dresden.
European Sleeper is a startup that wants to establish itself in the field of night train connections. So far, the company does not have its own license as a railway company, which is why there is speculation that it WILL cooperate with the Czech provider Regiojet. He is already active in this segment on his own account.
From May 25, 2023, European Sleeper will operate from Berlin to Brussels and Amsterdam. Stopovers are planned in Deventer, Rotterdam and Antwerp. From 2024, the trains will no longer start in Berlin, but in Prague. This creates the new intermediate stop Dresden in Germany. Ticket sales are scheduled to start in February 2023.
However, the new night trains will not be a cheap alternative to air connections. Next fall you have to shell out 49 euros for a ride in a six-seater compartment. If you want a sleeping cabin for single use, you have to put at least 159 euros on the table. Sometimes it is much more expensive to travel than by plane.
