The entry into the market at Salerno Airport by the low-cost airline Wizz Air will be smaller than originally announced. Among other things, the Vienna flights have been removed from the planning.
From October 27, 2024, Wizz Air Malta wanted to offer two weekly non-stop flights between the Austrian capital and the Italian airport. Nothing will come of this – at least for the time being – because without further notice the low-coster has stopped selling and completely removed the route from the reservation system.
No one commented on the reasons, but it is not unlikely that they were dissatisfied with the advance bookings and in view of the well-known engine problems, which also affect Wizz Air along with many other airlines, the planned aircraft can be used elsewhere.
