The holiday airline Edelweiss is increasing its Airbus A320 fleet to 14 units. The company announced that it would take over the machine with the registration HB-JLP from its sister company Swiss.
The aircraft in question is currently 12.7 years old and was delivered to Swiss in 2011. From next year it will be part of the Edelweiss fleet. This then grows to 14 Airbus A320s in the short and medium-haul segment.
Taking into account the latest A340 single fleet, Edelweiss Air will then operate 19 aircraft in summer 2024. In the medium term, the four-engine aircraft will be used, as Airbus A350-900s, which are used by Latam Airlines, will form the backbone on long-haul routes in the future.
